Golden Knights Take Marc-Andre Fleury Off Trade Market

Oct 17, 2020 1:31 AM

The Vegas Golden Knights are no longer looking to trade star goalie Marc-Andre Fleury, general manager Kelly McCrimmon said Monday.

"We see the goaltending position being incredibly important this year. Our goalies will be Robin [Lehner] and Marc-Andre. We all expect a schedule [next season] that's going to be very compressed. The importance of two goaltenders is really going to be valuable," McCrimmon said during a news conference announcing the signing of star free-agent defenseman Alex Pietrangelo.

Fleury has two years left on his contract with the Knights, with a salary-cap hit of $7 million. He has a limited no-trade clause.

Sabres GM: 'No Intention' Of Trading Jack Eichel

Oct 8, 2020 2:01 PM

Rather than focusing on his first NHL draft as a general manager, Kevyn Adams was busy reassuring the Buffalo Sabres fan base he has no intention of trading captain Jack Eichel.

"I'm hoping I'm clarifying it for you, but that to me is an easy question, because we have no intention of doing that," Adams said during the half-hour pre-draft session with reporters on Monday. "I have zero concern on Jack wanting to be here. I've had great conversations with him, his representatives. I'm not really sure where that's coming from."

Bruins GM Sweeney Dismisses Rask Trade Talks

Oct 7, 2020 12:46 AM

Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said nothing has changed with the status of star goalie Tuukka Rask, despite rampant trade speculation surrounding the Vezina Trophy-nominated goaltender.

"As a matter of fact, our staff has communicated with Tuukka. As I said before, he remains a big part of our roster planning going forward. He was second in the Vezina balloting, and we feel very, very comfortable [with] where our goaltending is at," Sweeney said Monday.
